ASUN Troop - Coloured by Pyrosity ASUN Troop - Coloured by Pyrosity
Quick color version of this: [link] 'cause I'm taking a break from studying :P

Before the merger and alliance of the ASUN and ADA, Conscripts wore red trim armour. After the AFM was formed, a white trim was used with a couple areas of red remaining to honour the ASUN's legacy and victory over the NWI with the help of the ADA.

For the curious, the rank of the guy on the left is an ASUN Strelet, and the right one's an AFM Private.

dude, awsome trooper( id like to have him on my team)
is he a conscript or a rank and file trooper?

it would look cool if you drew him in action pose (me think he'd look cool running to a bunker!)

This guy here's voluntary, though the conscript uniform is very similar (without the body armour or neck guard).

Thanks :)

Photoshop. I used to use Gimp, but I got spoiled by my digital media class in high school where we got to use CS2.

Thanks!

hey great job on the colouring! I really like how you managed to get the colouring look so rough by still keeping some of the pencil lines visible behind the colouring! :#1:

Thanks! All it is, is a layer set to multiply. All the colour is flat, the pencils give it shading :)

I like it because it keeps all the colours on one layer that you can set to normal again and get out the actual specific colours if you need to. Sometimes I'll also do a layer on top of the whole thing and use some light black and white brush work to clean up an area, like I did with the eyes here (and some other lines were cleaned up).

Its bin an interesting year actualy.. But I have found the time to improve myself, it will be evident^^ I am a fan of Kalahari's work for a while too, but sadly, its sad, but he's one of the asshole artist's that thinks he is the hottist shit to touch the ground since the internet. *shrugs*

I wouldn't know either way since I've never really known him in a social way. I just look at him completely from an artistic perspective. Would be a shame if he really is like that but I still love the work he does.

I know, it's amazing what can happen in two years when you really pick up on drawing. Hell I was going through some of ~KalahariFox's older stuff and comparing to his newer stuff, and it shows there too. I love the guy's style, it's quite an inspiration for me :)

Though not that it really matters, your boots are always the same, heh, but then again does'nt every artist have somthing in that art that will pop up alot of the time?

Boots ... ah boots. Footwear I love to have on my characters, personally hate to wear myself, and sometimes can't draw for the life of me!

I don't mind critique, though I'm not sure which shoulder you're talking about. This is just a colouration, so I didn't change much from the orignal sketch other than clean up some lines and detail the eyes slightly.

Yes, these soldiers are primarily Russian, with some coming from similar non-Russian areas.

The MOSNAGT-1 became the standard when the ASUN was formed following the breakup of the old Soviet Union. It's comparable to the US M-14 while retaining characteristics from the AK - it's extremely reliable and cheap to mass produce. At the same time it is accurate enough to be adapted into a designated marksman rifle.

Automatics encourage liberal use of ammunition, so a semi-auto was chosen to cut costs.

Thanks again :)
