Alexa character notes

A page of notes I've been working on over the weekend. I wasn't feeling well today so I decided to clean it up a bit and post it while I'm at home resting. Mostly for my own use, but it's about as close as I've ever gotten to a proper character reference for her anyway.

Alexa’s character design has evolved gradually over the years, and has ridden out countless changes to the setting which she occupies. She’s one of my oldest characters, and one whom I have always felt a strong connection with.

At some point along the way, I decided that her costume should be more realistically grounded, and began to redesign aspects of it to fit that goal. As is described above, each piece now has an origin and purpose, and they all come together to make her design both stronger and more believable.

Much of her attire uses natural-feeling earthen colors, with richer saturation in the major areas. The overall color scheme is meant to be a blend of colors found in the Calur wilderness and the alpine mountains of her homeland; Rrustam Vana, as well as mimicking slightly the uniforms of the RFL to hint at her complex relationships with each. These earthen colors are in contrast to her own fur colors; a cream-white coat with umber rings and mask, red head of “hair”, and dark blue-grey ears.

As a “white-bodied redhead,” she sticks out visually and socially, and tries to cover this up as best she can.
